Even Phantoms Wouldn't Want to Hang Out in Dorkaware

Jack brought home a field trip permission slip today. His class is going to see a play at the Grand Opera House. He was very excited when I mentioned it to him.

J: Mom! We're going to an Opera House? Is it where the legend of the Phantom of the Opera originated?

(I shit you not. He said "originated." And I beamed with word nerd pride even as I wondered where the heezee he heard of the Phantom of the Opera.)

C: Nah, bud. That is just a story and it's set in Paris anyway.

J, unconvinced: Are you sure it wasn't here? Really?

Yeah, bud. Sorry to disappoint but I'm pretty sure that nothing interesting has EVER happened here, masked singing stalkers included.

He knows Phantom?? I am so proud and he's not even mine ;)

When I was in high school (in choir - & yes, I'm proud to own it!), we got to sing with the stars from the SF company!
